North Coast Beginning Teacher Program

CBEST TEST PREPARATION DESCRIPTION

CBEST Test Prep is a Saturday workshop that provides an overview of testing strategies, test format and timing, and study strategies. See our CBEST flier - pdf page for the 2008-09 workshop schedule.

The North Coast Beginning Teacher Program is offering a test prep class to support students’ success with the California Basic Educational Skills Test! The CBEST Test Prep Workshop includes an overview of testing strategies, test format and timing, study strategies and will familiarize participants with the CBEST website. It will also provide an opportunity to meet other students who might be interested in developing study partnerships.

California Education Code Section 44252 specifies that candidates must demonstrate proficiency in basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills, in English, by passing the CBEST. In California, you must take the CBEST if any one of the following conditions applies to you:

blue bullet You are applying for a first teaching credential or services credential
blue bullet You are applying to be a day-to-day substitute
blue bullet University students wishing to enter a Teaching Credential Program
