North Coast Beginning Teacher Program

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW

Professional development includes individualized goal setting and action research based on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and organized workshops and/or courses designed to increase teachers’ knowledge and skills.  Professional educators participate in ongoing professional development activities throughout their careers.

The North Coast Beginning Teacher Program offers a variety of professional development on a regular and ongoing basis.  Sometimes these workshops are available only to program participants and sometimes they are open to all teachers.  The workshop and course offerings are listed to the left – check out the description of each workshop by clicking on the corresponding link.  The schedule varies throughout the year so to determine current offerings and availability and to register for workshops/courses, click on the Orange Registration Button on the upper right hand corner of your screen.

We also highly recommend visiting your local County Office of Education to find additional professional development opportunities.  We have provided convenient links to county office websites throughout the region on the right side of your screen.
