Requirements to Earn a Clear Education Specialist Teaching Credential Teachers within the NCBTP service area (Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Nevada and Sonoma Counties) who have a Level I Education Specialist credential (this includes someone who completed the Level 1 program a few years ago, last year, this year, or who is an intern and will complete it next year) or teachers who have the new Preliminary Education Specialist Credential have two choices:

1. Complete the North Coast Beginning Teacher Program Clear Education Specialist credential program OR

2. Complete an approved university-based Level II program

If you (or a teacher in your district) would like to earn your clear credential through the NCBTP, contact your BTSA District Coordinator to be referred to the BTSA County Coordinator. Enroll online on the Enrollment tab of the Home Page of our website. You will then be contacted by your County Coordinator regarding attendance at the monthly seminars with your district-assigned Support Provider, if applicable. If you have already completed a full BTSA Induction Program, it is not necessary to repeat those seminars and/or portfolio assignments. Instead, you will attend the fall and spring Level II seminars to address the content from the Level II program standards.

For additional information, or for those of you teaching outside the NCBTP service area, you may call the Regional Office at (707) 524-2818.
