North Coast Beginning Teacher ProgramCREDENTIAL ANALYSTSThe NCBTP Credential Advisor, Sandy Jaeger, advises new teachers regarding ways they can meet the credentialing requirements of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). She works with new teachers to answer technical questions requiring in-depth knowledge of regulations pertaining to credentialing and provides program participants with an analysis of current credential requirements as well as necessary steps required for the next level credential. She communicates credentialing needs to the NCBTP Regional Director and County Coordinators. Sandy works closely with Credential Analysts across the region including Credential Analysts at partner universities, school districts, county offices of education and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Credential Analysts have an important role in supporting new and aspiring teachers. They interact with students at universities who seek certification, with teachers employed at school districts, with those seeking employment and with personnel involved in assigning teachers to appropriate grade levels and subject areas. One of the NCBTP goals is to link and collaborate with Credential Analysts across the region in order to better serve new teachers and district staff. Program staff participate in the Credential Counselors & Analysts of California (CCAC) Conference in October each year and they attend the CTC annual Spring workshops. The NCBTP also hosts an annual Credential 101 retreat for credential analysts across the region. Next Meeting: Febraury 3, 2012 Credential Analysts are invaluable! Thank you for all your hard work!
